The hotel offers an indoor and outdoor space, a fire pit, live entertainment, and delicious food and craft cocktails to keep every guest happy year-round! Whether you’re celebrating a hard day’s work, staying for work or play, or finishing a long run from the trail, Hotel Nickel Plate will be the place to visit. The hotel would also like to introduce The Whistle Shop, the hotel’s boutique-style shop, offering Hotel Nickel Plate branded items along with local products such as Indiana Soap Company, Ambre Oils, and Unplug Soy Candles.
“We are extremely proud of our team for working diligently on making Hotel Nickel Plate come to life. I know everyone put their hearts and souls into this project. It makes me proud to drive down 116th Street and see not just a hotel but a home away from home.” Tim Dora, president of Dora Hotel Company said.
Inside the hotel, there is a full-service bar and restaurant, Derailed at Hotel Nickel Plate, which specializes in delicious food and craft cocktails, featuring fresh ingredients and masterful preparation by the Derailed culinary team. If you’re ordering a multi-course meal or grabbing a drink and appetizer at the bar, Derailed at Hotel Nickel Plate has a lively, casual yet upscale atmosphere making it perfect for dining with friends, family, clients, and business associates.
“We take pride in our location and want our restaurant and bar to be full of positive energy, enthusiasm, and life. Our space invites our hotel guests and our community to explore, engage, and most importantly, escape. We aim to embrace tradition while creating our own classics. Our passion is the craft behind true hospitality.” Chris Dora, vice president of Dora Hotel Company.
Hotel Nickel Plate is the third new project completed in Browning’s 116th Street Development, announced in 2018 which includes the 6-story, 180,000-square-foot First Internet Bank headquarters and Nickel Plate Station, a 237-unit multi-family project developed in partnership with CRG Residential featuring first-floor retail, rehabilitation of two legacy buildings on 116th Street, and the new Cafe Patachou which will open later this year.
“Hotel Nickel Plate is the remarkable result of a partnership between a local development and construction company [Browning] and Dora Hotel Company (headquartered in Fishers) being financed by First Internet Bank, whose new headquarters is located next door,” remarked Adam Chavers, chief development officer at Browning. “Working together, we delivered ‘STAY,’ which is another important component to the Nickel Plate District’s motto of LIVE • SHOP • DINE • PLAY, and further enriches the vision for Fishers established by Mayor Fadness, his staff, and the City Council.”
Hotel Nickel Plate encourages guests to explore the local area, seek their adventurous sides, and create an authentic connection to their destination. You can walk across the street to the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, shop locally at the trendy boutiques, visit the Farmer’s Market, or take a walk on the Nickel Plate Trail. Our guests will be able to immerse themselves into our world, expanding their connectivity into our community.
