Infosys Technology & Innovation Hub Wins

2024 Indiana USGBC Green Building of the Year

Browning was privileged to have partnered with Infosys on the development and construction of their Technology & Innovation Hub, and those same key construction team members attended the Indiana Building Transformation Forum to celebrate alongside Infosys as they accepted their award for 2024 Indiana USGBC Green Building of the Year. Infosys articulated a clear vision of its sustainability objectives, and we worked closely with their leadership and the architectural team to deliver Indiana’s second LEED v4: BD+C: New Construction Platinum-certified building.

Browning in our role as General Contractor, along with the project team, delivered a LEED Platinum v4 facility, which is the highest standard for building energy efficiency designated by the U.S. Green Building Council.  Some highlights of our role include:

  • Construction Indoor Air Quality Management
  • Diverted over 50% of construction waste
  • Prioritized environmentally friendly products
  • Utilized traditional, local materials like limestone and innovative products like CarbonCure, which has an additive to mineralize CO2 that enhances the compressive strength of the concrete without compromising quality, all while reducing the building’s carbon footprint.  (This project was featured on Gates Notes for the use of CarbonCure. "At Infosys, we have always been conscious of our responsibility to drive efforts that reduce our consumption of resources.  We have implemented various sustainability initiatives aimed at achieving carbon and water neutrality across our campuses.  This award is an acknowledgment of our focus and commitment towards sustainable business practices.  We hope our efforts will inspire the larger ecosystem to adopt similar measures."

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes, and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.  LEED Platinum certification is the highest rating awarded by the USGBC.  The rating considers construction materials, processes, water management, lighting, ventilation, energy, and a long list of attributes for sustainability and quality of life.

“Achieving LEED certification is more than just implementing sustainable practices. It represents a commitment to making the world a better place and influencing others to do better. Given the extraordinary importance of climate protection and the central role buildings play in that effort, Infosys is creating a path forward through their LEED certification.”
