ESG

Sustainability.

Sustainable development meets the needs of the present and ensures the ability of future generations to meet their needs as well. At Browning, we are always mindful of our impact on tomorrow. That’s why several of our projects have received LEED certification, reclaimed sites, utilized recycled and eco-friendly materials, and are managed to reduce operating costs while prolonging the lifespan of equipment.

Browning also understands how important sustainability is to our clients and investors.  Browning has been accepted into the LEED Volume program and the project team is working to achieve LEED certification on their portfolio of Volume projects. Creating a LEED Volume portfolio displays Browning’s commitment to green buildings, transforming the building industry, and adopting LEED at a larger scale.

ESG

Community.

Our commitment to our communities goes beyond our development and construction projects. In addition to supporting organizations where our employees donate their dollars and talents, we come together once a year to amplify the impact of a local nonprofit improving lives for our neighbors.

Past projects include:
2018: Helping first-time homeowners with “Living the Dream” alongside the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (Read More)
2019: Empowering neighbors to increase their independence and reach their potential with Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana (Read More)
2020 & 2021: Partnering as a “Hunger Hero” for Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana to raise (Read More)
2022: Supplying educators with much-needed supplies in Marion County through Teachers Treasures (Read More)

Our 2023 Project Day was with NeighborLink and BY Plus Construction Training taking down a garage violating code and rehabbing the yard for the resident to age in place with construction professionals using skills honed over decades alongside those just finishing the BY Training and our office folks using power tools!

ESG

Diversity & Inclusion.

We believe that diversity and inclusion enhances our company, our projects, and the communities in which we work. Minority / Women / Veteran / Disabled Business Enterprise participation is not just an obligation — it leads to innovative solutions and fosters our entrepreneurial culture, creating success for our firm as well as our partners, clients, investors and employees.

At the start of every project we work with the client to establish diversity and community goals, identify diverse partners, promote project opportunities via community stakeholders, and track contract performance to ensure those goals are being achieved and that expectations are being exceeded.

We are proud to have safe and welcoming environments at our office and jobsites, inclusive hiring and procurement policies, and a culture where employees feel valued and have equal opportunity to achieve their potential.
