Browning was selected by Saab to provide pre-development services and general contractor for their new $21 million, 116,278 square foot state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility located in the Aerospace District of Purdue University’s Discovery Park District. Saab’s facility was constructed in 9 months and will support production of the U.S. Air Force’s T-X jet trainer and will be Saab’s flagship design and manufacturing presence in the US.
Saab’s 30,351 square foot office is anchored by a lobby that displays a 1/3 scale model of the TX fighter with the remaining space offering meeting/collaboration spaces, locker rooms, generous break areas and trellised outdoor patios.
The 85,927 square foot assembly area has beam cranes, specialized power, vacuum and compressed air systems to support the manufacturing jigs, receiving, parts storage, subassembly, final assembly, and shipping areas.
